  • Individualization of the basic idea that foresees the documentation of the European citadels investigating the possibilities that digital technologies ( from multimedia to the Internet) offer to solve problems of sustainable restoration of this typical European Heritage .

  • Definition of characteristics and performance of the Dynamic Modular Information System (DYMIS), planned as general tool of the project to organize and compare all data from all countries partner.

  • Proposal of dissemination to user groups.

  • Coordination and Management of the project, and promotion of the integration and the maximum cooperation between the participants, of technical-scientific consultation.

  • Elaboration of a comprehensive assessment framework which links aspects of accurate conservation of character of citadels with concerns about their social and economic sustainability of these historic cities.

  • Design of the architecture of the Dynamic Modular Information System (DYMIS) for recording, indexing, analysing and delivering Citadels Heritage Data with architectonic and conservation components.

  • Coordination for the implementation of the " DYMIS".


Municipality of Castellammare del Golfo, Italy

  • Proposal to solve in an innovative way the subject of the conservation of calcarenite stone-made citadels of the Mediterranean coast, built from 1200 to 1600, using an integrated and multidisciplinary approach for their preservation.

  • Integrated survey of the sixteenth-century citadel of Castellammare del Golfo and realization of a 3d model.

  • Organization of the 3° and last Meeting in Castellammare del Golfo.

  • Organization of an International Workshop about Innovative Systems for Documentation of Fortified Towns.

  • Organization of an Exibition about the results of the Project "CITADELS" with multimedia tools.
